Technical people

Rant of the day... It is my contenton that Most technical people confuse their own possitive reenforcement with solving their customers problems. By this I mean most technicaly aware people build solutions based on what is cool to use now rather that what is right to use for the customer to solve their probems.

Want to unlock/upgrade your iphone?

Just updated my old iphone from 1.0.1 to 1.1.4. I originally used the old copy of anySimm. The phone's work well since day one (I'm in the UK so I had it months before it was officially launch here). Since the phone worked I thought I would wait until the the Iphone hackers had a sure fire way of cracking it - before upgrading it .. well now they do go to http://iphone.unlock.no/ simple, clear instructions and software that works!

Mini Mac Upgrading

If you have a Mini Mac and are looking to upgrade it here are a few pointers that I have used.

CPU upgrade the latest generation mini macs have a intel mobile processors in them (the take the Intel T2300/T2400/T2500/T2600 and lastly the T7600 CPU's. The fastest you can get from Apple is currently the T2500 (2Ghz version). Follow the link above to learn how to upgrade it.

Mini Mac

6 months ago I ditched my old P4 pc running XP for a Mini Mac, now in 17cm high/17cm wide/17 deep stack I have 2 ghz core 2 duo, 3Gb of ram, 2.3 terra bytes of disk with a 10 USB 2 ports oh and a 802.11 wireless hub! Ok neither the CPU or the graphics card set world alight - But for me what does, is never having to switch it off (I simple press the suspend button at the back) so I get almost instant on. I run VM fusion with many different PC images, its quiet, it looks cool and best of all its reliable.

OneNote for Mac... ONENOTE FOR MAC!

Oh when will we have OneNote for Mac? If you haven't come across OneNote yet (its part of Microsoft's office 2007 and 2005) it is possible the best app to come out of MS since Visual Studio and .NET were launched.

(go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/default.aspx) to find out about it.

OneNote is a note taking application, I use it store all my web clippings, notes, thoughts, I run it across each of my machines (which it keeps in sync), and have it running all the time using parallels.

One my friends wants to switch to Mac but was looking for a native note taking application, well I have tried Circus Ponies notebook and now aquaminds, neither come close -each has some nice integration and indexing features as well as outlining but nothing like OneNote.

Ok anybody fancy OneNote and MindMap on OS X?
